Phase 1 | Orientation: Get Ready for Business Workshop

This workshop is an introduction to some of the most important concepts in starting and running a small business. We will look at what it means to be a small business owner, help you solidify your business concept, and look at the profitability of your business model. The workshop is offered in the following locations and languages.

  • Seattle (English only)
  • Bremerton (English only)
  • Tukwila (Spanish only)
  • Kent (Spanish only, fall & spring only)

Phase 2 | Learn & Plan: Business Development Training

This training is our core offering to help people examine the feasibility of their new business idea or look at the profitability of an improvement in their existing business.  We offer a new series of classes each quarter. Classes are held in English in Seattle, Kent (fall & spring only), Everett (winter only) and Bremerton and in Spanish in Burien. The class meets one evening per week for 8 weeks.The following are basic descriptions of each class session in the 8-week course:

  • Class 1 -  Define Your Business
  • Class 2 -  Make Money From Your Business
  • Class 3 -  Break Even On Your Business
  • Class 4 -  Sustain Your Business
  • Class 5 -  Market Your Business
  • Class 6 -  Communicate Your Business
  • Class 7 -  Organize Your Business
  • Class 8 -  Complete Your Business Plan

To apply for the BDT, you must attend a Get Ready for Business Workshop.

One of the benefits of attending our business development training is the help and support offered by our volunteer business coaches.  Coaches are present at each class and help apply the teachings to each student’s business plan.

Phase 3 | Launch & Support: Business Support Groups & In-Depth Resources

For those who have graduated from the Business Development Training course and joined a Washington C.A.S.H. Business Group, there is additional training available.  Form more information about the third phase of our program, please see the Member Meetings page.
