Summary of Responsibilities:
Special events volunteers provide support for special events, Banking on Dreams, Business Showcase events, Ventures events, and more.
Special events volunteers provide support for special events, Banking on Dreams, Business Showcase events, Ventures events, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Specific responsibilities will vary with each event, but typical tasks and projects include the following.
- Event preparation: assembling collateral, nametags, preparing centerpieces, decorations and event supplies.
- Day of event: set-up and decorations, placing signage and banners, set-up client display tables, greeting and directing guests, event registration, guest assistance, assist with tear down and clean up.
- Post-event: Populate thank you letter templates and generate mailings, prepare envelopes and mailing supplies, enter guest and gift data into donor database, ensure all items and supplies are properly stored or returned.
Time Commitment:
Time commitment will vary, dependent on whether a volunteer wishes to help with pre-event, day of event, or post-event.
Qualifications:
- Must be enthusiastic and willing to help with some mundane tasks, work in a fast-paced environment and have an ability to learn quickly and pay attention to detail.
- Event planning or event coordination/ event volunteer experience a plus.
- Must be able to relate appropriately and professionally with donors, staff, and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required for some tasks.
