Special Speaker - Taxes & Bookkeeping
Summary of Responsibilities:
This position would help faciliate 3 classes (of a 16 session course) on topics including recordkeeping systems, bookkeeping, P &L, Balance Sheet and preparing for Schedule Cs. We are looking for an active or retired bookkeeper/tax preparer that can share his/her expertise and assist entrepreneurs in having a solid grasp on these concepts.
Time Commitment:
Facilitation of three 2.5 hour classes, and preparation - for a total of approximately 15 hours.
Qualifications:
- Ability to break down financials and financial concepts to simple and accessible concepts.
- Hands on approach that allow entrepreneurs to implement concepts into their business with simple exercises (and prepare them for tax season).
- Experience preparing small business taxes.
- Experience doing bookkeeping for micro and small businesses.
- Familiar with Schedule C tax form and common questions that may arise with first time filers.
- Experience training or facilitating groups.
- Interested in working with low-income populations.
