Financial Advisor
Summary of Responsibilities:
Financial Advisors serve as financial experts working one-on-one with clients, assisting them through the process of applying for a loan with Washington C.A.S.H.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Attend 2 hour Financial Advisor Training (2 times per year), and attend Loan Group meetings once per month.
- Complete a questionnaire to determine areas of subject matter expertise, availability and contact information.
- Meet on the phone or in person with clients for one-hour consultations. In these meetings, Advisors will help clients prepare for loan presentations, and help current borrowers and current loan group members analyze financials to improving financial planning skills.
- Help clients to have a deeper understanding of business plan and financials, and to be able to present that information to others. Also, help current borrowers (already approved for loan) understand and analyze their business financials in order to improve financial planning skills.
- Fill out an electronic “Consultation Report” for each meeting, to help us track client progress and volunteer activity.
Time Commitment:
A minimum commitment of 2-3 hours per week for 6 months is preferred. Attendance at Washington C.A.S.H “Loan Group” meetings once per month. Financial Advisors are free to determine their own schedules and availability when working with clients.
Qualifications:
- Background or experience in finance/loans.
- Financial Advisors must be passionate about contributing to the mission of Washington C.A.S.H. and supporting small business owners, and must believe in the abilities and potential of the people we serve.
- Financial Advisors must be able to suspend judgment and listen deeply. They must be patient and understanding of the many personal obstacles to business-ownership our clients encounter.
- Financial Advisors are encouraged to attend our 8-week business development training course as a coach prior to or during their commitment to learn more about where our clients are when they come to us and where they are when they graduate from the training.
