Events at Washington CASH:
Influential, Innovative, Insightful Women of the World March's Breakfast with CASH

On International
Women's Day, March 8, Washington CASH hosted a breakfast bursting with
the energy of more than 50 “Influential, Insightful, Innovative Women
of the World.” Women from Women's
Business Owners, Women's Business Exchange,
the Women's Funding Alliance, Washington
Women's Foundation, the Seattle
Chamber of Commerce, and more were all represented at this engaging
event. Thanks to the Women's Funding Alliance and our client caterer Rachael
Humphrey of Good Morning Sunshine for partially sponsoring the event!
Stephanie
Cholmondeley, of Cinema Diaspora, and Laura Matson, of Laura Matson Designs
(top right) spoke about their businesses and their business group at this
event. “We've turned down as many loan applications as we've approved,”
Laura boasted of her business group's notoriously careful consideration
of loan applications. Laura received her $2,500 loan check last week.
“Yeah,” Stephanie chimed in, “we require full business plans typed and
e-mailed to our group at least a week ahead of time.” Stephanie will apply
for her $1,000 loan at this week's business group. Good luck, Stephanie!

The Impact of Sustainable Resources
It Takes More than Luck to Invent.
In
order to thank our major donors, we had an “Impact of Sustainable Resources”
open house at our office. Ten clients came to thank our donors and show
them how their businesses have grown and profited as a result. Beth
Quartarolo, Public Affairs Manager for HP in Washington, said to the
attendees, “The $150,000 in equipment for Washington CASH is just a
start. It's great to see that Washington CASH has such a dedicated group
of supporters so that we know that the tools we have invested in this
organization will be utilized to their fullest extent!”
RSVP to Zanne if you are interested in attending our fundraising event "Banking on Dreams" at Bell Harbor on Wednesday, May 18 from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m.
Technical Assistance Classes:
Technical
Assistance sessions organized by Maddy
Frey have been bursting at the seams. Program Coordinator, Annie
Dunn (top left), taught a class called “Strategic Marketing” to a
packed room of clients and volunteer
Betsy Lydle-Smith taught “Confidence Building
Strategies” to another large group. These sessions
give our clients a well-rounded set of business skills,
not just the tools, but also the confidence to be great
business owners. Let Maddy know if you're interested
in teaching a class!

Exciting New Partnership:
Washington
CASH has an exciting partnership with Women's
Business Exchange (WBE). Each month, WBE has a networking breakfast
for women in business. The breakfast costs $18, but for four Washington
CASH clients per month it's free! Communications and Technology Coordinator
Laura Zera has been a board
member at WBE and facilitated this partnership. Please get in touch with
Laura if you know of a fitting community partner for Washington CASH.
Thanks WBE!
