Dear Friends,

The summer has gotten off to a great start! On Wednesday, July 6th, 23 students graduated from our most recent Business Development Training Class in King County. We had a potluck graduation ceremony at our office to celebrate these new clients.

Maya Sullivan, our instructor (pictured handing out graduation certificates to the right), just completed teaching her 16th class with Washington CASH! She has instructed almost every King county class for the past 4 years and the graduates from her class have nothing but extremely positive things to say about her and her enthusiastic teaching style. Thanks Maya!

The training doesn't stop with this initial business development training. This summer alone (between June and August) Washington CASH is holding 15 advanced training workshops for our clients. These workshops include topics such as: Accessing Credit (taught by a volunteer from US Bank), Understanding your Credit Report (taught by an instructor from Boeing Employees Credit Union), Financing Your Business (taught by a volunteer mentor), Marketing with Publisher (taught by our own Program Coordinator Maddy Frey pictured to the left), Business Taxes, Financials with Excel, E-Commerce, and more, all taught by staff, interns, and dedicated volunteers. The workshops have impressive results. In the Publisher class that Maddy taught, all 5 participants were interested in making business cards. Less than 2 hours after the workshop began, each client had his or her own stack of cards printed and ready to distribute to market their businesses.

We'd love to tell you about our programs in the way YOU want to hear about them! Please let us know if you'd like to come and visit our business groups, have coffee, meet with a board member, teach a workshop, meet with a client, or join a committee. Thanks for all your support!

Sincerely,

Melany Brown
