Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our annual appeal so far! This year we extended a challenge to the Washington CASH staff and clients to become more involved than we ever have before. Together, the clients and staff raised $2,125! Please continue to support a program that has such heartfelt support from within.

We have two upcoming events and we'd love to see you at our office! On February 10 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. we will have an “I Heart Small Business” celebration in support of small businesses in Washington . In March, we will celebrate International Women's Day at a breakfast on March 8 called “Influential, Impactful, Insightful Women of the World.” Please join us at our office for one or both of these events!

Program Innovation Improves Clients' Experiences:

Project SOAR Roll-Out:

With a $30,000 grant from the Paul G. Allen Foundation, Washington CASH will be rolling out the implementation of a new program supporting our business group members entitled Successful Ownership Achievement Resource (SOAR) over the next two months (January and February. SOAR is a resource helping clients transition from our business training class to successful business ownership through various self-help methods for individuals and groups. For example, groups are already utilizing a new deigned Revenue Generating Goal form. Individual business owners creates a set of goals at each meeting and then is held accountable to her goals by recording them on the Group Goal form.

Hewlett Packard Grant Improves Efficiency and Effectiveness:

To help clients learn to scan and manipulate pictures with immediate color printing capabilities for their brochures and web sites

To minimize time-consuming administrative tasks by taking staff meeting notes on a laptop that transfer directly onto the server

To conduct live staff trainings in the mobile computer center for our new client loan tracking database

To give our clients access to the same technological edge as their competitors so that they can thrive in the competitive business sector

Client Success Stories!

Each month Washington CASH clients work hard to prepare loan presentations

to take out $500 to $5,000 peer loans.

Loan presentations are approved when a client is able to successfully demonstrate

to her loan group how she will focus her business efforts. Detailed focused planning

leads to increased sales thus enabling the client to make loan payments.
